Graduate Student Organization

The Graduate Student Organization (GSO) represents the interests and concerns of graduate students in the Coordinated Doctoral Programs in Biomedical Sciences at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons.

Our mission as a group is to meet on a regular basis to promote social and academic interactions among students from different programs, represent and voice the general interests regarding graduate student life issues, encourage the integration of new graduate students into our student body, and importantly, provide graduate students opportunities to be positively involved in the communities of our school and the greater city of New York where we are located.

The GSO is run by a group of elected students who represent the diverse student body and support the uttermost personal, intellectual and social development of all graduate students it represents. The GSO thus provides a forum for which voices can be heard and actions can be taken to enhance the everyday life of graduate students.
